![]() On the MKIV systems, if you do the upgrade and then install an older software version (such as going from V23 down to V22.1 and then back to V23), the navigation system may reset out of USA mode and put you into UK mode. Now that I re-read that thread, I realize I did this: You need to update your Nav firmware to V31. I am only looking for basic coding functions and fault reading ability which I guess 1.4.0 will be much better suited to my needs. Have ordered 1.4.0 and I will report back once installed.Įven though it may not do everything, neither does my girlfriend which at the end of the day is no big deal as long as the main functions work A-OK. I guess I expected that being official BMW programs they would be ‘better’ than others which indeed they may well be but certainly not easier to use for the average BMW enthusiast than 1.4.0 looks to be. The online forums devoted to these areas of expertise I have concluded to be frequented by some of the biggest bunch of conceited and unhelpful Pricks on the face of this Earth that after reading a few introductory posts I was permanently turned off without even registering to ask a simple question that others have been more or less bitch slapped for their troubles. I finally got everything installed after 6+ hrs of torment only to find the package was largely unusable with my level of programming knowledge. However, there were not at all as intuitive to operate as I had hoped for. INPA and EDIABAS and DIS were all running. Never the less it worked abet with many associated complications along the long and winding way. Having to install VMWARE Workstation first has it’s own set of complications that I never wanted to be involved in. Yes, I followed the instructions and it took about six hours to get the software package installed. I runs diagnostics, reports faults, clears codes, allows for basic programming features, and can code new modules (assuming your brave enough to try that). Doesn't do everything, but it was a simple driver install (copy the file to disk) and then connect the cable, and bang, it works. There are forums developed to that proposition exclusively. But using it, after it's installed, is another story as well. Good they offered the refund but back to square one does anyone have a unit that is simple to set up, run will let you turn things on and off with out doing fifty other thing after all this technology is not new. Were you able to get the one you bought up and running? Those who have got the software itself running are using tech professionals, so if you did get it to run, props. Mean while Email globaloutlet firm concerned and after a few interchanges they say item could be defective and have offered a refund. Do google search and on e46 fantic's find a post about this problem go through the process still doesn't work. Put disc in laptop and do bmw install as requested comes back no drivers opens drivers folder and attempt to install all hell breaks loose and in short end up going around in circles. Upon looking around at various items bought one of these off trade me turned up 10 days later. Have a Creator C100 BMW scanner already which is great but is unable to turn on and off options. Wish to purchase a scanner for the e46 and after a search on here found this thread. īe sure to check compatibility with your car and PC though If I can the M54B25 to a B30, I can just load the DME software and go. If you install WinKFP you can update DME software etc too. The SSS/DIS/NCS can be used for more in depth stuff, such as more complicated retrofits and settinngs. I've changed the litres of fuel used before oil service due warnings, change light settings (angel eyes blink with indicators etc. I even used to to change some of the xenon light settings after I fitted a genuine retrofit kit. I have both of them, and BMW scanner is VERY good for plugging in and doing quick things - far easier to use and very quick to set up. Jimmy reads another forum I read.īut if you're really into fiddling, you want BOTH!!! I'd buy here though (actually, I did - he lists on ebay too though).
